Late at night in a dark kitchen, a Dalmatian lies on the floor while its owner checks a phone

How urgently does your pet need a vet?

AI Triage is designed to answer that one question from your pet’s own record: an emergency, a vet visit this week, or something to watch at home.

Planned · subject to regulatory advice

Quanterium’s AI does not diagnose or prescribe. In an emergency, contact your vet or nearest emergency clinic.

What it does

Three answers, and never a diagnosis.

Grounded in your pet’s own history, breed and age. It reads the record first, then answers one question: how urgently does this animal need a vet?

AI TriageIllustrative

Caesar · Dalmatian · 5 years

Caesar threw up once tonight. He’s drinking and wagging his tail. Should I worry?

Reading the record first

  • 5 years old
  • Dalmatian
  • No sickness on record this year

Going by his age, his history and how he’s acting, this looks like one to watch at home tonight. If it happens again, he stops drinking or seems unwell, call your vet.

Not advice for your pet. In an emergency, contact your vet.

  1. 01 / 03

    Watch at home

Keep an eye on it. If it happens again or anything changes, call your vet.
Example: Caesar threw up once tonight, and he’s drinking and wagging his tail.
  2. 02 / 03

    This week

Book a vet visit in the next few days, and go sooner if it gets worse.
Example: Juno’s been limping on her back leg since this morning.
  3. 03 / 03

    Emergency

Call your vet or the nearest emergency clinic now.
Example: Biscuit ate most of a block of dark chocolate an hour ago.

Safety rules

The limits are the design.

These rules are part of how AI Triage is being built, not settings that can be argued with. Follow one question through them.

  1. 01 · The question

    Triage, not diagnosis.

It answers how urgently a vet is needed. It doesn’t name conditions and it doesn’t prescribe.

  2. 02 · Access check

We never ask a model to keep a secret.

Who can see what is enforced in the retrieval layer, in code, before the AI sees anything.

  3. 03 · Record and guidelines

    Clinical governance.

Only this pet’s record, and clinical guidelines curated under a Veterinary Clinical Lead, a planned hire.

  4. 04 · The answer

    Urgency only.

Emergency, this week, or watch at home. When it’s uncertain, it recommends a vet.

  5. 05 · The log

    Redacted, and never trained on.

Personal details are removed before anything is logged. We’ll hold model providers to contractual no-training terms.

The AI answers how urgently a vet is needed. That line is the design, not a limitation we regret.
From our business plan

Triage instead of diagnosis also keeps vets on our side. Quanterium sends people to their vet sooner; it doesn’t try to replace them.

Availability

Part of Premium, once it’s cleared.

AI Triage is planned for the Premium plan. Whether triage counts as regulated veterinary practice is still with our lawyers, and we’re waiting on that advice before we commit to it.

Quanterium’s AI does not diagnose or prescribe. In an emergency, contact your vet or nearest emergency clinic. The examples on this page are illustrative and are not advice for your pet.
